Columz?
Columz originally started as a DOS game called X, which is also based on Columns by John Rotenstein. I never got round to finishing it, but about 80% of the code was already complete, so I decided to code a Windows version instead of continuing with 80's technology. It worked far better than I had anticipated, and it's nearly complete, but still in it's alpha stage. It does however run pretty well, and has only a few small stupid bugs, which I hope to ferret out shortly.
The game has many nice features, including multiple levels with very fancy 24 bit graphics and sound/music. If all goes well, future options should include paint, bombs and surprise packages, so bookmark this page! The high score system should also be up and running by the time the next alpha is released, so hold thumbs.

Installation
PC-USER TYPE PROCEDURE
Beginner This is advised for new computer users as it'll do everything for you, and the game's icon will simply appear on your desktop. Download the game setup program by clicking on the italic link under the file column in the below table. If a dialog comes up asking you weather to save the file or open it, click the save button and stash it somewhere on your hard drive. If you are unsure of were to put it just click Open. It should appear on your desktop after a while. Run the program that just appeared and follow the instructions. Double click on the white ball labelled Columz to begin the fun! Medium If you've used Windows before and you don't want to download winzip right now, download the files you want using the self extracting archives featured below. Then run the program you downloaded and install it to the folder desired. Right click on your PC's desktop and click New -> Shortcut. Then click Browse. Locate the columz.exe file and click Open. Click Next. Type in Columz under the name dialog, and then click Next again, and hey presto! Advanced I'll not insult your intelligence. But if you want you can save a bit of time, by only downloading the levels you want (this is why I have a separate corneal for basic installation). Just unzip them to your current Columz install directory making sure Winzip retains directory information, or you'll have an almighty mess! You can also benefit this way, by downloading the new levels as they are created.

I am at the moment a student studying a Science degree (currently 2nd year) through UNISA externally in Brisbane Australia, majoring in Maths (noooooo) and Computer Science. I am 21 years old and use Delphi 3.0 and DJGPP (the excellent GNU GCC - DOS port by D.J. Delorie) mainly for serious apps, but I also enjoy a bit of good 'ol ASM and Turbo Pascal 7.0 mixed for demo programming. I know I should use an extender, not real mode, but I'm really lazy! I'm interested in game/demo/Java/JavaScript/general programming, playing guitar, paintball (skirmish), Quake/Unreal DeathMatch (so contact me for a game if you want to die! :-) ), ICQ, web page development, 2/3D Graphics and just general messing about with friends.
